It's like the last release before the big 1.0.
But it's got a nice built in update util that you can just hit on that and download updates or new versions with instead of downloading a new file and installing it.

Too many webpages "customize" for IE too much and you miss things if you don't use IE. In other words the don't conform to agreed upon webpage standards so that everyone can see them.
