Default Assault Weapons Image Thread

Since the AWB lifts today, I figured it'd help to educate people on what exactly type of equipment everyone's talking about. I myself can't make heads or tails on all of the gun names with letters and numbers all mixed up.

Let's see some good images to match a name to gun!

Its not just with guns!! Ive noticed alot of people here on HAN use a bunch of letters and numbers when describing stuff they buy!! I personally find it kind of annoying when someone starts a thread saying "I bought this today" and spit out a bunch of letters and numbers assuming one would know what the hell they're talking about. The sad thing is that it seems like im the only one that doesn't know what they're talking about

I personaly think the Swiss StG. 57 takes the cake there. It has a gorgeous bayonet though, I happen to have one... brushed stainless steel with a ribbed black plastic handle.

The FA MAS isn't exactly a looker, either.

The Striker12 and "Street Sweeper" shotguns are now considered destructive devices, not firearms, and fall under those regulations.

TEC-9/AP-9

MAC-10 (other MAC/Ingram/Cobray pistols similar)

The UZI family:
Standard

Mini

Micro

Remember, by US law, any pistol with a fixed, collapsable, or folding stock is considered an SBR (Short Barrelled Rifle) and falls under restrictions similar to automatics, destructive devices, silencers, etc.

It should be clarified, they are not fully automatic.

First of, MAC and TEC type pistols are widely considered to be peices of shit. More recent manufacture MAC's and pretty much all TEC's didn't have the quality control, and are pretty flimsy designs in the first place. They seem to really only appeal to the "gansta" types. I'd rather they carried a jam-o-matic scary looking pistol then something more conventional that actually works.

In a true combat situation, I'd take an AKS-74U for buildings,

an AKM for general urban use,

and an StG.58 or other FAL for rural areas.

Granted, in a combat situation, it's foolish to carry more then one main arm. I'd take an AK-74M for all-around.

Semi-auto, civilian legal versions of all are availible. Note: civilian legal AKS-74U clones do not have a folding stock and are classified as pistols, those that retain the stock are classified as SBR's and require a full background check, police authorization, registration, and a few other good things.

Gets kinda heavy with a full tank, but makes short work of soaking neighborhood dogs, and the pesky neighborhood kids who walk on your lawn!
