The saddest part is, people were without electricity for a week after Charley, then Frances, now Ivan and others are on their way. I pray everyone will get through this.

People can help by donating to the red cross.

People live everywhere....to say move away from an area with natural disasters just cant happen....20 years of mellow hurricanes, a few years of bad ones...a few earth quakes on the west coast, some tornados in the central states, mudslides in the rockies, cold in the north, the volcano and rain in seattle....where do you go?

Most people are intelligent enough to move away from a place that consistently gets hit with catastrophic storms and such....but you Floridians have been damaged by too much sun and lack that common sense I guess.:dunno:

Well it just seems to me that there is no place you can go to escape natural disasters...but you moved right into the heart of them.

Yeah mudslides happen and fires happen and volcanoes happen but they happen much less and do less damge than the hurricanes do

I used to live in "tornado alley" which was a fun place to live but we also never were affected by the tornados....they came, we watched them, and they went without coming anywhere near us. I suppose its all calculated risk in the end.

it is nice being by the beach and weather over 70 all year! Sure beats starting the car to let it warm up and shoveling snow!
