How long should a car battery last? When should it be changed? (don't say when it doesn't work anymore :fawk

could last the life of the car as long as it gets used properly and doesn't get drained.

Mine has lasted 11 years. The car still has the original OEM battery.

As long as your charging system is in good shape, the battery is maintained well, and there is no power drains in the car it potentially could last for 10+ years with no problem. Obviously Paul has had his for 11 years so who knows really how long they would last.

I usually change mine every 6 years or so. Batteries go on sale around the fall season so they are cheap to pick up before old man winter comes to town.
