Default Replacing brake pads on an old chrysler...

Never tackled an american car's brakes before, and someone wants me to do a pad and possibly a rotor replacement on a 91 LeBaron. Anyone have a link to some nice online resources so I don't have to go and buy one of those pepboy manuals?

brake pads don't need a manual.

tools needed:
C-Clamp
Socket Set (possible star bits)
tire iron

pull off the wheel.
take off the 2 bolts holding the caliper on.
slide the caliper off the rotors.
pull out the pads.
use C-clampto compress the caliper so you can put the new pads on.
put the new pads in place.
and put everything back on.

simple. if you need to do rotors, you can pull them off after you get the caliper off.

You're going to need an allen head wrench or hex bit for the caliper sliding bolts.

Better safe than sorry h: And yeah, thanks for the heads up on the sliding bolts.

It's a cute girl's car and I want to impress her, so I want to have as few stumbles as possible And with a Chrysler, you never know when they'll throw some weird design idea at you...

oh, don't forget to put the shims on the new pads. most new pads don't come with new shims, so just pop the old one off the old pads. it's jus a lil piece of metal that snaps on the back of the pads.
