Default question for networking people

i've got 3 pcs i want to hook together, 2 running xp 1 running win98. i have a usb printer hooked to one of them that i want to share. do i need a switch or a hub?

you need a router....hub is an ugly word

im too cheap for wireless, and ive got several long wires laying around already.

a hub, just sharing the connection, no firewall or any security.

Router, share the connection + built in hardware firewall

Switch - Very fast for sharing connection, no hardware firewall security.
