Default Earthlcd.com

Probably :gives: but anyways...

www.earthlcd.com

Found this site during a search for a low cost touch screen LCD solution for my car. Instead of spending big bucks I am thinking about getting one of their barebones kits with a SBC computer.

go into a little more detail about what you are going to do with this touch screen LCD. I was thinking of getting some sort of computer that would serve as a GPS/DVD player. I always thought a touch screen would be cool but I didn't know of any programs that would work with a touch screen.

ideally what I would want is something to flip down where the passanger sun visor is. Not one of those little ones that goes in the visor. Like a 7" screen to replace it. But I haven't seen anything perfect yet.

Basically I am getting a barebones pc either from Newegg or from a Single Board Computer (SBC) manufacturer. I am going to intall the 7" touchscreen where the headunit in the car goes. (It will fit very snugly in there.) The computer will then go into the trunk of the car. That way I can use it as a navigation system with the correct software and an entertainment system.

ok, I am going to build myself a carputer. The hardest part will be finding a screen that can be mounted to the ceiling of the car, flip down, and swivel.
