I was trying to hold this back, some might agree and others wont. But IMO, insurance is a phuking joke. Car insurance should be optional just like health or any other insuranse out there. People nowadays can barely afford to live let alone pay these incredible rates for driving, which the State thinks is a privelage. This is the 21st century. Driving is a way of life, not a privelage. I think if you want your car, whether new or old, to be insured then feel free to pay for it. But people like myself would chose to cope with getting hit and having to pay for it out of pocket should have that right. For those of you living in California, you know how expensive things are. And to add another $150+ monthly is a kick in the face. Its a car. Its a piece metal that transports people and things. Well cell phones transmit messages and info yet when they ask you to 'insure' your phone you dont have to. Why? Because its your choice....you reep what you sew. Same with health insurance. I dont see them caring as much about that yet Ill get a $500 fine for driving without it. Therefore if you are worried and dont want to pay for your car if any damages do occur, then insure yourself. Otherwise I feel it should be optional just like rental insurance, health (i dont have it, no job...but you dont see me getting a ticket for it), life, and whatever else falls under this term.

:wtf:

that is the most rediculous thing i have ever heard.
Someone accidently smashes into your car and totals it. I'm sure you're gonna be pleased when you find out that they have no insurance and you ain't going to get shit.

Like I said...IMO. Thats the chance you take. Same rule applies to Dental insurance. What if I get hit in the mouth with a baseball while playing with some friends and knock out 5 teeth? If I was in a great situation Id be covered by my INSURANCE but what if I dont? Im gonna get billed for it. Its up to me to make the choice. I shouldnt have someone telling me to do it.
