Actually, after reading the article, I think its even funnier because ford's compact hybrid only gets 36 mpg :rofl: Hell, a civic can get that much :rofl:

 

sad. shows how weak fords research and development is, and the companys future if they keep cant keep up with the competition.

I'm surprised other automakers weren't as vocal about their opposition to this. I do think that in some ways it is unfair to automakers who don't have hybrids that meet these requirements, b/c it is in effect favoring a very narrow range of vehicles. However, I will admit that Ford's engineering prowess remains questionable and that their hybrid technology is behind that of Toyota or Honda.

 

Ford sucks. Plain and simple.

 

There is also a tax rebate for gas guzzlers over a certain number of pounds, in which cars like the Suburban, H2, or other SUVs sold.
