Default exhaust question

friend of mine has a 96 EK hatch with a b18c5 & DC Sport 4-1 header. What would be the proper exhaust to get? An exhaust for a hatchback work or would any other trims work? We're looking for bolt on, no refitting or chopping. TIA

Depends on what cat you're using.

If you get a proper-sized cat from Landspeed Racing then you can run a hatch exhaust no problem. I would call them to get exactly what you need instead of trying to search through their website which is sometimes a bit cryptic.

He's going to have to run a hatch catback, with the correct length cat, or if he has the b-pipe resized. The exhaust on a hatch goes under the rear LCA, instead of over it like on the civic coupe and integra.

Really? I was going to say get the hatch exhaust for the rear bumper fitment. I put the Tanabe RM off my '92 CX onto the thermal B-pipe on my '98 EX coupe and the thing was about a foot short of the bumper (I had to tie it up with wire, I needed to take that car to NY and my thermal muffler section was getting a stealth/silencer installed). It worked fine but looked funny. The rear B-pipe/axle joint appeared to be in the same place on both cars, but obviously the hatch's rear is shorter than a coupes. I'd say go with a hatch exhaust so you don't need to screw with that.
