the olympics and drugs
who is keeping up with the olympics? a gold medal athlete was disqualified and stripped of her medal because she tested positive for steroids. this makes me wonder who else is on drugs? the other night I watched a 31 year old Bulgarian gymnist do some amazing things on the rings. he looked a little too muscular if you know what I mean.
she was a russian shot putter :eek4:
and just so you know...the rings is one of the most demanding exercises on your arms/muscles. I bet its just from practice that he got so buff.

They should just legalize all performance enhancing drugs...might level the playing field a bit and get rid of some of the scandals.

It get so boring and I don't watch olympics.
And besides, all those "energy food" that we have now most likely contain little things that will not pass the test. Sometimes the athletes got the boot for no reason.

I am actually surprised at how often I'm watching the Olympics.. it's quite compelling.
h: We've done quite well in the swimming competitions, and Phelps pulled off some amazing work in the 100m breaststroke on Fri. Aside from the few snags in shooting and pole vault, we ought to do quite nicely in the remaining track & field events.
And in the wake of the Valco (?) scandal, I'm not surprised that the IOC is being super-vigilant about drug screening. As far as I'm concerned, it's something that must be done. To legalize steroid use in competition - particularly the Olympics - is a real step backwards. Not only does it ruin the spirit of competition, it undermines the premise of professional sport altogether.
