Some people are more sensative to changes from hot to cold. Cause durring that change your body has to adjust, while it adjusts it's extra vulnerable to infection.

It might be because some molds will grow on the evaperator in the dash if the drainage is poor. They do sell some spray shit at Napa to kill the mold and it makes the air smell nice.
Af far a your home A/C most people use those spun fiber glass filters the don't remove anything from the air. Use cotton pleated and you should notice a big improvement.
