Migraine sufferers, question
I went to the Neurologist yesterday to talk to him about my migraines...he gave me Imitrex. Have any of you ever taken it and how did it work for you? My body reacts pretty negatively to most medications, so I'm really cautious about taking anything. I just want to see how other people were with it because i don't know anyone who's taken it before. Tis all

she never had side effects from them, but again, if she took the pill too late and she was already suffering pretty bad, it had little to no effect on her.

k, thanks Ryan.
What is the cause of your migranes though? A friend of mine always had bad migranes daily, then he got braces and he was all good after that. Turns out, some of his teeth were crooked and put stress on nerves that caused the migranes... heard of some NFL football player having this same issue too..

I use to go to a Neurologist for my migrains when I was a kid. I need to see one again since I started getting migrains more often again
Fiorecet use to work wonders for me. I tried one of my sis's imitrex pills and it helped a little but like Ryan said you need to take it before it gets bad.

i've had migraines for the last 12 years. for me, its a combo of hormones, stress, diet, bright lights, being over-heated, climent/weather change, back and neck problems....plus the fact that migrainers are more sensitive to the everyday things that give us headaches, but dont even phase the next person. Meaning, you might be able to sit there, in a dark room staring at the computer for 8 hours, while after 30 minutes my head starts pounding. Our brains are more sensitive to things that cause pain. If that makes any sense. The Dr explained it to me really well and i can't remember how he did, but that's pretty much what he was saying.
I know exactly what caused my headache when I get one, and most of the time it's hormonal (around the start of my period)...other times it's from lack of sleep, not eating enough or eating the wrong things, and extreme stress. My teeth are fine. The only thing that contributes to my headaches, other than waht i just said, is my back and neck being so messed up...and once in awhile because of my eyes.
So yea, I'm doombed. I've been to Dr after Dr and been on medication before...the OTC shit doesnt do a thing for me....so hopefully this Imitrex will :happysad:
