I feel your pain I couldn't get the front sleeves off of my blues and I said screw it and left them there and replaced the skunks with H&R's and drove it like that for a while. The problem is that the dirt and shit gets in there and makes it tough.

I HAVE CONQUERED! I finally got the sleeve off the first shock...but i still have to get the broken bolt out of the other assembly :wtc:

when i pulled off the sleeve, there were 2 o-rings and something looking like tape. so, i just called Skunk2 and they are emailing the installation instructions so i can see if i need new o-rings and "tape". hopefully I get this done today!

Looks like i got to this thread a bit late. Anyway, when I had Skunk2 sleeves, they came with a variety of different sized o-rings. You were supposed to use the tightest fitting ones and then tape them into place. If those o-rings fit between your AGX's and the sleeves nice and snug then you can just reuse them. You'll have to use your own tape. If necessary, you might want to/have to use some kind of liquid to get things slippery enough to get the sleeves on.

About the broken bolt...living in CA, I've rarely had that problem. My current car is originally from New York though and there is one LCA bolt that I think I've avoided taking off because I'm worried that I'll snap it. Good luck with everything. You're almost there.

not anymore...i cut the bracket to the shock w/ the broken bolt, and still cant get the damn thing out! not to mention that shock is now punctured and the gas is eating a hole in my driveway and burning the skin on my hands.

:werd: indeed. I make damn sure the car is set firm on the stands before I get under her.

Doing the header swap 2 weeks ago, the first thing that came to mind was whether the transmission would crush my chest first, or would the sump flatten my head. :eek4:

Not a pretty thing to think about. h:

Damn.

The only thing I can think of is cutting the bolt head off with a Sawzall. Then use a large centerpunch & a sledge to force the bolt shaft out.
