Default PayPal question

Alright, here is the deal........I was trying to sell something on another board (TI.net) and agreed upon a price with someone. After we agreed upon a price, he pretty much disappeared for like 3-4 weeks.........not a huge deal because I didn't send him the product (of course), and it was just sitting in my closet anyways so no harm done. Well, I recently got a message from him saying he was sorry, blah, blah, blah...and he wanted to still buy it. I said fine, send me the money (PayPal) and I would gladly ship it right out. He is hesitant and keeps asking for all my contact info. (name, address, phone number). I don't like to give that out (he already knows my name) to anyone and told him that all he needs to make a PayPal transaction is my email addy (which he has). He said that he needs/wants it for security reasons. I explained to him that PayPal knows how to get ahold of me if need be (as well as the fact that I don't really know/trust this guy). I also told him to check my references on ebay, TI.net, and here. He said that "Well all my online transactions I have ever had, they gave me all there info with no problem. I have been ripped off in the past and dont want it to happen again. So, sorry i cant go thru with this transaction then."

What do you guys think? Should I just give him my cell # and work addy and be done with it (and get paid), or tell him to screw himself? Is there anything that he can do with the limited info. he is asking for? Is this some sort of new scam I haven't heard of, or am I just being overly cautious. By the way, it is a $62.50 item so it isn't a real big deal.

Thoughts?

give him your phone number. put yourself in his shoes. I always ask for phone numbers too, and it has saved my ass more than once from being scammed.

Either you go through an escrow service, which probably isn't worth it since its less than 100 bucks, or you get him to trust you. I wouldn't give out my address unless absolutely necessary.

I am not that worried about my number (obviously give him my cell), but why do you think he needs an address? I will just give him my work address, but it just sounded a little fishy to me and wanted to see what you guys thought. thanks.

Suggest to him using the PayPal insurance option.

In a nutshell, what exactly is that? Any cost for that?
