what "downfalls" am i missing here?
edit: granted, i would much rather sponsor people with equipment than straight money, unless we are sure that the person won't abuse it.

you can never be sure what the money will be used for. sorry if you can't see it, but there are other obvious problems of associating an organization with an individual.

but yes, you dont just give some dude cash, have to be careful. But i dont think you see the benefits.. advertising for the company alone makes it very worth it.
