Default Flat tire story

10 minutes ago I just got back from an incredible fiasco with a flat tire I had gotten.

I was driving back home after doing about 2 hours of random stuff I had to do. And I was less than a 1/4 mile from my home and I hear a *Pfffffftttttt*. So I pull into a car garage that was about 10 ft. away and get my spare out and start jacking the car up. I'm doing this very quickly since it's just a tire change. It was the front right tire that had gotten flat so I didn't want the spare replaced by that, since the front tires hold so much weight. And I take the front flat tire off and go to take the back right tire off and I am stuck on one of the lugnuts. So I yank at it very hard and I see the car lift slowly, then droop away from me, follow by a high pitched *kink* . I look to the front and notice that damn manual jack had toppled:wtc:. Now I'm pissed because it's nearly impossible to jack up that part of the car since all the jack points are about 1/2" off the ground. I pray that the rotor didn't crack or bend, and luckily it didn't....

Now I start thinking, I am in a car garage, so they have a floor jack, I borrow that from them, but realize there isn't any way I can lift the car high enough to get the spare on with limited jack points. Now I start thinking and I realize that I can jack the car up a little with the manual jack and then have enuff room for the floor jack. So I put the manual jack under the LCA and slowly turn the damn thing....each revolution taking about 45 seconds...it gets tiring and I soon realize that an hour has passed. By this time I am in such a state of boredom and pissed off that I am cutting myself up vigorously on the blacktop. Anyways, I finally get the spare on, and just say f*ck it to putting the spare on the back, and I drive home.

No damage was done to the suspension or brake setup, so I'm very happy. Just a flat tire and some raw emotion.

Cliffs: Got a flat tire 1/4 of a mile away from home. Jack up the car. Car falls off the jack. Rotor pierces the pavement. Need to spend nect hour slowly jacking up the car on the jack points that are 1/2" off the ground.
