Pfft to Pre-built Computers
the only $2500 computers we sell at my best buy are sonys.....sonys are really expensive because, well their sony. They come with a decent software package too. The rest of the computers are a pretty good deal. But of course you can build a computer yourself for cheaper. It just isn't feasible for most people to build their own computer. 90% of the population is still pretty computer illiterate (at least from what I see at best buy).
btw....everyone that has come in with a printout from Dell has been able to get an equal computer for cheaper or a better computer for the same at my best buy. Dell is pretty overpriced.
Lab: Maybe you missed the "dell specials" part. Buying a dell at full retail is stupid. If you are just slightly patient and look around, you will find 15% coupons to add to one of their many, many specials.. ie, 2.8ghz, 800fsb, 512mb ram, 17" flat panel, $598 shipped. Add the 15% off and then try to beat that with a sony.

I also went to compusa, it was better than Best buy, but still along the same lines.
I will never buy a prebuilt computer nor will I let someone close do it to themselves...

You can find these all the time for just a couple hundred dollars.
Expensive Intel chipset, very quiet fan, efficient cooling case. The BIOS will handle the very fastest Northwood chips, plus the Prescott chips all the way up to the last gasp, 4.0 GHz iteration that's projected.
Prefers ATI Radeon video cards, but there's nothing wrong w/that.
