Default Internet Problems

We just got a new cable internet provider after moving, and we're having some problems. Throughout the day, when I try to open a link in a new window, or type in an address in the address bar, it sends me to a page from the service provider asking me for my account info to download software. It doesn't do this all the time, just occasionally. Could it be the router doing this?

call em up and complain!

I won't install my ISP's shit. They ask me that every time I call. "No, I don't want to install the cd. I use a linux machine as my gateway and your software won't work on linux nor is there any need for it."
