They can... and DO on a semi-regular basis. The president's last raise in salary was due ONLY to the fact that Congress had again voted their own salaries so high that they were on the verge of making more than the pres. Seeing that, they raised the president's salary, then raised their own again.
Don't try too hard to fault supporters of the right, you might make yourself look stupid in the process.
That being said. Rush does make a good point. I'm not voting any-damn-ways, so it doesn't matter too much to me. But it is good to know.
if you read the article you will note that he did not call out any party.... he just stated the facts and how they arent fair to the tax paying citizens.... and the first part obviously stating that our armed forces receive virtually zero benefit compared to the people who were lost on sept. 11
