I think of the dating age as more logarithmic.
The higher up in age you get the more ok it is to date someone further away from your age, to an extent.
I'll give an example to help simplify my thoughts.
Somone who is 18 should only date within 1 year.
Someone who is 22 should only date within 2 years.
Someone who is 26 should only date within 3 years.
Someone who is 30 should only date within 4 years.
However I feel the limit is about 8-10 years diffrence. I don't believe it's good for someone who is 30 to date someone 40. Now 35-40 is where I'd say is the cut off point of this. Someone who is 35+ should pretty much be able to date anyone 8-10 years older than them if they wanted to. But not that much younger, only older.
That guy(28) dating that girl(18) is in it for the "hey did you get that 18 year old yet?" "sure did!" "oh man that's awesome! you are the man!" type situation. He's just looking to get some and brag probably.

Yeah, I'm 23 and 21 is as young as I'll go at the moment. A 28 year old guy with a young girl is either just doing it for sex or because he's playing out some kind of wierd father-daughter fantasy. Either way, that's messed up and she should kick his ass to the curb.

yeah, too bad shes google eyed over a "sophisticated" older man with a real job.
Heck, this isnt even a high school/ college gap! this is a high school/Career life gap!!!
if you ask me, tahts a gap thats pretty much unbridgeable.

i do however, think its a totally different situation when the guy is younger. I could almost see myself dating a 30 year old, if shes youthful and shares my interests.
