Subs don't bother me, I have dl'd every episode of all 4 stages and they are all subbed. I won't pay my good money for some crappy english version with all the names changed and crap.

I enjoyed it too but I'm also used to reading subtitles. Give it a chance and you'll probably get used to reading the subs.
BTW, I thought it was kind of slow at first and so I kind of forced myself to keep watching it in the beginning. Afterward, I was sort of hooked.

Just like Godzilla movies, it doesn't work for me.
But movies like Crouching Tiger, subtitles don't detract from the movie.
