Default Making Sushi/Sashimi

I never really made sushi before but they had fresh salmon on sale at the super fresh near me so I bought some. Took it home, cleaned it up and ate it with a little bit of wasabi and soy sauce. Is that ok? :dunno: I don't know if it's supposed to be prepared any special way or anything. It tasted good.

Was it sushi grade salmon?

Btw if you just have raw fish which isn't rolled up in rice and seaweed, that's called sashimi.

wasabi and soy sauce help kill bacteria
and yeah just plain raw fish is sashimi
i prefer rice

I asked the guy at the store if they had sushi grade fish and he was like "ummm....it's fresh...just take it home and cook it, it tastes great" so I said "I'm making sushi with it" and he asked me how to cook that and I said "ummm, you don't cook it it's sushi" he was like "WHAT?!?!? you don't cook it" so I said, "nevermind I'll just take it" so what is sushi grade fish and where can I find it? how is it different then regualr fish?

the guy that works at the fish part of the korean supermarket i go to to buy my fish knows me so he knows what i want, i dont have to say anythihng

i think its ok was long as you cleaned it
asian grocers usually have some thing of sashimi packed and ready to eat

btw, I know it's called sashimi but I decided just to put sushi cause more people are familiar with that.
