Default Locost racing

Why can't the US have something like this? Its possible to race reasonably well for about 4000 quid about $7000. I can't imagine the US ever making something like this.

well there is like, formula ford and stuff like that....i'm pretty sure it is more expensive though.

a friend of my uncle's races a D-sports racer which is basically a mini le-mans-style chassis and body with a motorcycle engine in it. he has about $20,000 in it i think. its a seriously fast car though, IMHO. thats what i plan on getting when i have the funds.

edit: actually i have an article about it from sportscar magazine. im scanning it in right now just in case any of you guys are interested in it.

heres the last part.

i think a big consideration that is often overlooked when calculating the cost of a race car is the cost of a tow car, trailer, and tires. those things add up fast. my dad always says he can see $100 bills flying out the tailpipes of fast race cars, and the more time i spend at the track, the more i see he's right. :happysad:

Go pick on of those up, $2004 limit and some pretty cool cars that made it (I just skimmed your attachments).
