Default Stupid online services that keep billing you!

Before I bought my Miata I wanted to check my credit score, so I signed up with one of those online things where you get a credit report but they keep billing you if you forget to cancel. Well, I forgot to cancel and as I was looking at my chceck card statement I saw a charge of $9.95 from the place.

Now, when you call to cancel, they really really really really really really really don't want you to cancel. First I pressed the menu option to cancel, and it played a recorded message about how identity theft is a growing problem blah blah blah. Then I got to an operator, and after I said I just want to cancel and have no reason other than I don't want to pay for it, she tried to sell me on the service! I told her that I have no further use for the service, I don't want to pay for it, and I want to cancel. Then she starts talking about how she can't give a refund for the charge that was already made, I say that's fine just don't bill me any more, but then she goes into selling me on the service again! Finally I just said, "look, stop talking, I don't want the service and you're not going to convince me to keep it, so just cancel my subscription and that's it." She still blabbed about some other shit for a while and then finally did cancel my subscription.

Effing scammers.

For services like that you should be able to choose reoccurring or not when you sign up. Geez.

I got a similar thing on my credit card. They enrolled me on that stupid identity theft plan thing (I ageed so I could get a free credit report and could cancel after 30 days). I "thought" I canceled it but I was continually getting charged the 10 bucks a month. When I called to cancel AGAIN, she kept trying to push me to keep it.
