Default "souping" up the car = really worth it?

so putting money in the car is addicting, fun, and a cool hobby. it makes driving more enjoyable and makes you feel good. but how fast do you really need to go? how "pimp" does your car need to look? for every 100 dollars you put into it you will be lucky to get 50 back. i see those "how much money have you put into your car thrends?" and it makes me sick to my stomach when people add the totals up.

hmm....get some new rims

or

go out, have fun with friends, and eat expensive stuff on the menu for once.

I don't care about speed, because speed is nothing without control and I am working on getting a better handling car. I can never test the full potential of my car on the roads, but I can always have a fun to drive car on the road while still staying within the realms of legality.

at this age...material things only mean so much. i was never too into cars to be dropping G's into it. different story with car audio though. but im past that also. my next big purchase comes in the form of 2 wheels and allow me to enjoy the great outdoors.

if you have the money why not? but if you spend more on your car than food/living expenses... something is wrong.

Its a waste of money....but then so are most hobbies no matter what.

You just kinda accept that and either continue because you enjoy it or you quit because it stops being fun.

:werd: It's a hobby that only people can be into it or not into it. Of course with cars comes money, but that's the whole point of it. If you got everything for free and suddenly had a 1500hp 4 banger, and so did everyone else because they got it for free aswell, it wouldn't be as fun. It's that feeling you get when you know you did 'this' to your car.
