Well, you have been blessed with 20/20 vision....:fawk:

I, however, have been damned with defective eyes since the age of five. h:
It was my fate. Totally inevitable.

And no, I will not consider contacts.

Nor will I consider laser surgery for at least another 15 years... I've heard horrible things about accelerated macular degeneration in some Lasik patients. :eek4:

The hassle of cleaning the sonsabitches. h:

And I know this is unrealistic, but if I were to lose a lens while rolling at 85 mph+, I'd be fuxored.

I want something light that I can simply put on and get rockin... glasses have filled those requirements nicely for nearly twenty one years...I have little impetus to change. Certainly not over one pair of broken sunglasses. h:

Anyway....together with the Rx glasses, they were $200.
But now, Champion no longer supplies that frame, so I'm SOL.

I think I'm gonna buy a set of Bollé - replica style cycling sunglasses from Perfomance tomorrow. They have a set with a Rx insert....and they're much stronger than the flimsy wire frame that snapped on me today.

And for the record...they failed when I was clipping them on...
And six months out of warranty, no less. Grrr.

Damned metal fatigue.

Que serà, serà. h:

Ah, but if one is thundering up a mountain road in broad sunlight, and then quickly enters a large cluster of redwoods...with a double-blind hairpin in the middle of the grove...will the auto tinting lenses snap back to clear before the driver goes blind and promptly runs into a 300 year old tree?

:eek3: Wow. 20-10.

I probably won't be able to fix the clip-on attachment. It failed in the worst possible spot, and a soldered joint won't take the stress of clipping and unclipping for long.

Performance Cyclery in San Rafael is selling a Multi-Lens Sunglass Set with the Rx insert for less than $70.00...:eek3:

If they fit tomorrow, I'll buy 'em. Have a look...

Oh, and lasik soon, you ask...? Nope. No way. Not for at least another 20 years, if ever. I want to be absolutely sure that there are no long-term problems with laser surgery. I've heard bad things about accelerated cataract growth and macular degeneration that may be related to improperly performed LASIK surgery. :eek4:
