Scheduled one for tomorrow! I dont have any symptoms, I just want to have a piece of mind... Have any of you guys had them???? What should I expect?

I get them before and after my girlfriend and I have had sex.

But i saw the commerical on Mtv about getting tested, and i figured it was the mature thing to do!

 

well, if you want a full inspection, yes..
they test for syphilis and the HIV via blood. but for stuff like gonorrhea, they need to get a tissue sample and check it out under the microscope, hence the (thin) q-tip. and yes, it hurts. for stuff like herpes and warts, it's just a visual inspection. i suppose they have more tests if they actually see something. thankfully i haven't needed that.

 

Yeah. I got tested before I got with my now ex. But my doctor let me do the q-tip test myself. It was hard having to force something like that down there by your own hand. And yes it hurts for the few seconds its in there. Make sure you go at least 1/2" down or its not accurate.
