Want to save a BUNCH of money?
Look over all the fine print on your contacts you sign, see if it says anything about mailing any checks marked "In full accord and satisfaction" to a certain address different from standard payment address.
Your credit card company probably has this clause.
If you're paying for something, mark in the memo box of your check, "In full accord and satisfaction"
- if you don't mind going to court -
This discharges any 'contract' you have, by saying that with the acceptance and cashing of of this check, I am fulfilling my end of the contract - in this case the payment of funds due.
But, especially if its for a large sum - like you make a $50 payment of a total of $1000 owed, and you add "in full accord and satisfaction", and they cash it, legally you're done, no more payments.
They'll take you to court most definitly, but you'll win, unless there is something in a contract you signed saying to mail anythign like that to a different address.
Just a neat 'tip' from law class.
*I am not a lawyer, and you'd be pretty stupid to actually do this, but if you did you'd probably get away with it
