I have owned my 89 E30 325is for 6 years and the clicking noise has never changed. I keep adjusting my valves and the noise never changes. I have listen to other E30's and some sound worse then mine. IM planning to replace the injectors soon and see if it changes

my injectors are loud too 
h: i swore up and down it was the valves...he lent me one of those stethoscopes with a rod at the end. it was mostly coming from the injectors h:
