Default Go karts

So they finally opened up the go kart tracks here. Not the amusement park type but the real deal. Its kinda like auto xing, you can bring your own kart and equipment or go down there and use theirs. Well its $45 a night for practice, qualifying and racing. I used to do it a lot and quit for the last year or so because it was getting really expensive.

I had to literally force myself not to hop into my car go down and race tonight. I know its gonna get expensive because they race 3 nights a week, but I really miss it and I can't wait to strap into a kart put my helmet on and go racing.

Do I say hell with the cost and better myself at karting, or do I wise up and save my money for the real racing schools. :happysad:

The place uses Shadow Dragon karts, I never had my own kart just used what they gave me at the tracks. I raced in the 370 lb category because I am pretty lightly built. If I get in I'll probably spend 6 months getting my skills back and then buying my own Tony Kart with a Honda engine. At that point I can probably kiss all my money goodbye.

Must you remind me of the good times. Its $45 a night for 3 nights a week. Thats $135 a week for 20 weeks. I know I can't afford to do this but dammit I remember some of the races I had. Starting mid pack because of a bad qualifying run and blowing by everybody and then getting spun out by a back marker. Or starting on pole and then being tapped on the ass end at the first corner and dropping to last and coming back to win the race. Or going head to head with my brother for the whole race and neither of us giving an inch only to get squeezed on the final corner and losing.

Haven't broken anything karting yet but I've been pretty badly bruised up to the point it hurt driving back home. I only did it for 3 years straight and then quit last summer and took to the amusement park ones since they were tamer and I was getting broke really fast. Its an addiction, but it kept me off the streets though.

:werd: My Accord is my only car and until I can afford another car its karting for me. I made up my mind last summer that I was done with karting and would save money to go into racing school and get certified. Well... its like being addicted to dope you can quit for a few days but you get withdrawl.
