Why identify someone by color or race anyway? Just call them by their name.

I say it to be silly.

It really depends on how it's used, obviously.

If a friend comes up to me and goes "hey china man" its ok.
If some schmoe walks up to me and says "y0 chinaman", I borrow a page from chuckie's taekwando book. :exnbp:

Funny thing is, when I spoke to Daniel on the phone once, I reffered to Chanc as "Chank", Daniel didn't correct me :eek3:

I think I'm with you.

There are definitely parts of the world (mixed-race cultures in the far east) where it is a racial pejorative.

I don't see any point in taking the risk, and I would avoid using it.

I was trying to be polite. I have corrected a few other people on here in their pronunciation of his name.

I will not be so nice next time! :squint: :fawk:
