Hey I need some advice guys. I need some parts that I am going to order from some guy I met on a forum.. well this one to be exact... anyway he is telling me some un-believeable cheap prices but will only accept check or money order....what do you think i should do to not get scammed? thanks

Maybe you could do a wire transfer to his bank account. That'd give you hard evidence of the transaction and a place to start if you need to track him down. Another precaution would be to write up a simple contract and both sign it.

well he lives a few states away from me... that was the first thing i checked!! I figured if i get robbed i can go to his house... but it is real far... anyway he gave me his adress and phone # but i just dont understand why someone cant accept pay pal... he refuses to let me send it though pay-pal... i like pay-pal because i got robbed before but i paid the extra $5 so i got my money back...his name is 1accord2nv and is a HAN member... i check his post and they are ALL him tryna to sell stuff.... can anyone vouch for him? so i should do it huh?

You should say you're going on a trip through his state and you can pick it up locally. If he backs down, you know it was a scam.

i'm with this idea if he won't meet face to face then he's a scammer because any good business person would never back down from having an encounter with a customer to prove that he is legit
