Has anyone built their own bedframe . . .

Has anyone built their own bedframe like they do on home improvement shows? I have thought of trying that. Any ideas? Where can I find out some specifications?

I don't know of a how-to or a guide for this... it's really just a basic frame... wood would be a lot easier to work with, where steel will be stronger. Obvisouly.

I like a nice well made wood frame. Feels more comfortable.

Get some 2x4's, sand em down and smooth all corners and edges down. Stain accordingly and bolt em together. I'll be beautiful.

yeah I was thinking of a nice wood frame. It could turn out really good.

i built a loft bed myself (for my sister). then whitewashed it so she could draw designs on it to give her touch.

Lawrence can you give me some tips on creating a frame then since you have done it?

i like the ones that are only about a couple inches off the ground, those shouldnt be thathard.

i used 2x4's for the frame (and cross-beam's). and smaller dimension for the lower support. the area for the mattress was measured just a few inches larger than a twin-size mattress. the matress was supported by 2x4's spaced ~10in apart.
