what do you tip gas station attendents?

what do you tip gas station attendents?
when i was in Conneticut, i had a station attendant pump my gas. are you suppose to tip them?

when I was in jersey, I tipped them $1. The universal minimum.

We don't have too many of those in Atl. If you feel like they deserve a tip, then yeah.

lol no you don't tip them. here in oregon we aren't allowed to pump our own gas...so if we had to tip the attendants, we'd be broke.

When I was up in the northeast, I didn't tip any of them. If I can't pump my own gas, I'm not going to pay someone to do it.

i too prefer pumping my own petrol, however, when i have no choice but to use full serve, i don't tip. oh well.

NC is solely self service. I've never known what it would be like to have someone pump my gas, except of course if I'm riding with someone else.
