I'm single, I broke up with my girl a few weeks ago after I took her on a romantic getaway and all she did was complain about stupid sh1t. I'll probably stay single for a while. I wish I could find the right girl and settle down. I get depressed when I think about it. I used to be proud of how many women I'd slept with, but now I just feel, I don't know how to put it, sorta like a whore I guess. I remember when things got hot and heavy you'd think that this could be the person you are going to spend the rest of your life with. Now more often than not I hear a voice in the back of my head saying "I wonder how long you'll be around" as my brain scans through a flip-book of faces that have come before. I just don't think we were meant to live like this. Fvck you Hollywood & Madison Ave. for steeping our entire culture in sex.

okay I'm about to start a massive philosophical rant.....I'll spare you all and save it for the publisher.

Would I rather be single or have a boyfriend? Hmmmm...

I envy people who have been single for a long stretch of time. Until recently Ive always had long term boyfriends. I always had them for the wrong reasons though. Looking back I can only think of one out of the four who was really worth the amount of time I put into them. December of this last year I became single....and its lasted a long time. Ive had boyfriend after boyfriend, but they last about a month and then go away.....(I think that probably counts as being someone I dated ~ not an actual boyfriend.....Im not up on this terminology though, so :dunno: )Its been fun, really....Freedom, variety....who could ask for anything more.....right? Eh...

At this point in the game I enjoy ending my day by being able to talk about it with someone. When I have some sort of troubling issue I like to discuss options. When theres a game, a concert, a movie, a vacation that i want to go on I would rather have someone go with me.....

Are there such things as friends? People you just hang out with? "The girls'? Of course.....but, Im at that section of the road where most of my friends are married or practically married....they've entered that perma-couple mode.

So, what I've come up with is this: If I can find someone who can make me laugh, hold intelligent conversations, and is as attracted to me as I am them, (add in the other 13 requirements on my list here) ....then I'd rather be with them than without them. But, until that person comes along I would rather be single. I dont feel like wasting my time on someone who will just irritate me.
