what would cause internet explorer not to work?

goto ms-dos prompt & try to ping a website. if you can, you have browser issues. if you can't, you have internet connectivity problems.

also try pinging a website via IP address instead of "www" address

james rock. he helped me with my DSL installation. he should do this for a living or something.
