240sx - '90 too old?
I found a 1990 Nissan 240sx. It is a 5-speed with 105,000 miles on it. It is a one owner in excellent condition. It has new paint b/c this year model supposedly had problems with the paint bubbling. The seller is asking $2300 or best offer. Is this a good deal? My only concern is buying a 14 year old car. That is b/c my parents have been ragging me about it b/c my Accord is a 1996. If it only has 105,000 miles on it, it shouldn't matter how old it is right?
The KA engines are known to take a lickin and keep on tickin. They are truck engines afterall.. My friends 89 240 is almost at the 300k mile mark. It runs fine still. If the previous owner(s) know how to maintain a car then the car should be fine.
As for that price, I'd offer him 15 or 16 for it. People were selling 240s for 2k several years ago. I'm sure the value has gone down since then.

In all seriousness, though, I'd check the car out thoroughly...chassis, drivvetrain, all the usual stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if the suspension bushings need replacing...but mechanically, the S13 is very robust. This is a manual tranny car, I hope [?]
