Default What kind of car should I buy? (Budget around $10,000)

Aright, the speedo on my cougar broke during a road trip the other day. I know I can probably fix it for like $50 but it's just another thing thats broken now and it's starting to piss me off. So I'm gonna try to sell it. Anyways....

So I want to look for something else now, I originally bought the newest car I could afford thinking it would be more reliable but now I'm not so sure that is the case. I think I might want something a little older, maybe something with a motor under the hood instead of 400 computers.

Anyways, it would be nice to have a car that actually has an aftermarket.

So far I've thought of....

1st gen 300ZX
2nd gen RX-7
and I've always LOVED EG6 civic hatches.

Any comments on these or some other good enthusiast cars?

If you want reliable I wouldn't go with a 300ZX...or an RX-7. Good cars, but I can't imagine parts come cheap for them.

For 10,000 you could probably swing a E36, 6th gen accord coupe, prelude, celica, A4, uhm uhm. Just do a search on autotrader in your area.

I changed my mind about those rims a long time ago. I know now that was an error in judgement.

Anyways, I've found quite a few nice EG6's in the local auto trader, some with B18's and even a couple with B18C5's. All within my budget, and that is VERY tempting.

This

and this

are some examples.

Is using the 10k as a down payment an option?

well so far you're doing a pretty bad job of selling it, how about telling me what it is

I've thought about doing that and getting something brand new but, I barely make above minimum wage, and i'd live in constant fear of losing my car if I ever lost my job, I'd like to just outright buy something so I don't have to worry about it.
