lets say i setup xp pro on a computer
do i have to be connected to the interweb to dl sp1 and any other updates?
wouldnt i pick up blaster or some other crap?

Load winXp then hook up to the web and go directly to the SP1 DL.

 

or download it before the install and put it on a cd. or get a cd that has sp1 integrated into it.

 

i would do what john said because im lazy. but what rob said makes better sense if you have the time.

thats the patches for blaster and sasser respectively

it will take only a few minutes to download and install those and then you can take your time doing the windows updates

btw, if youre using fckgw youre going to need to change your windows key to install sp1, if you need help with that lmk
