Default a/c issues!1!

does anyone else notice their car to suddenly run different after turning on their A/C?? Like me for example im driving down the road and flip the A/C on and I feel the car jerk a little (noticably though) and it than runs somewhat different as if I was carrying more weight. Is this just my poop of a car or is it normal (which I doubt)??

Depends, what rpm is your engine turning at when you hit the a/c button?

It could be just drag because of the a/c compressor or because you're turning the compressor on at high rpm.

The compressor has a magnetic clutch, so when it engages, it could be kind of rough since it has to get up to speed with the pulley.

Yes I tell my friends that I am gonna hit the turbo when I turn off the ac. Thats why I seldom if ever drive with the ac running. Stop go traffic, hills, ac and never going higher than 2nd gear doesn't do wonders for my gas mileage.

Yes you need to give it more gas. Us Honda owners don't have gobs of power so when the ac is running it takes up a good deal of power.
