And the Miata shopping continues...
The '99 10AE we took as a trade at work turned out to be not worth it for several reasons, mainly because it had 90k miles on it already and was in pretty rough shape. I currently have a list of 6 cars I may look at, 3 of which are confirmed that I'm definitely looking at.
The definitelys:
2001 Special Edition, 22k miles, 6-speed, ABS, might have sport suspension
1999 10th Anniversary Edition, 40k miles, 6-speed, factory body kit, sport suspension, maybe has ABS (have to call and check), ugly pinstripes
1999 10th Anniversary Edition, 25k miles, 6-speed, factory body kit, sport suspension, no ABS, some kinda aftermarket wheels
There are also two '01 LS models and one '00 LS that I might look at if they have the 6-speed (the autotrader listings for them are non-specific). The 10AE is my favorite in terms of looks and trim, but the SE might be worth going for if it's the only one with ABS. As for which 10AE to go with, I have to decide if I want ugly rims and lower mileage, or higher mileage with the stock rims but ugly pinstripe.

Fatbootysir....when you look at the car with the pinstripe try to see if it's a decal, or if it's painted. If it's a decal you're in luck--it is easily heated up with a hair dryer, pealed up, and any residue will come off with a cleaner wax and a little rubbing. If it's painted, well, then it has to be lightly sanded off with a piece of wet sanding paper on the end of a pecil eraser and well, that's not easy. So, hope for it being a decal.
