Default true story :oh:

there's this little store nearby thats owned by middle eastern people. Before the owner was always there his name was Khalied pronounced "cali", anyways he's never around anymore ( he was a cool guy) now the only 2 people that run this store are his 2 younger brothers who both are like 16 yrs. old, today I asked them where Khalied was and he said "he's in arabia, he has kids you know" I than told him if he knew it was dangerous over there and that people are getting their heads chopped off and they were both startled and kept on asking me how I knew over and over, and I thought :slap: the news and then one of them says "blah he's over there making bombs" and now I was like :wtf: and then told them shhh.... dont say dumb shit like that cause the FBI is watching you and pointed to their surveillence camaras :chuckles: and they started talking to each other in arabian so I left.

true story that happend like 15 mins ago h:

I do find it interesting. So they were surprised that a US citizen knew of the beheadings?

Although you find it interesting I find a few things about it disturbing in your views of Middle Eastern people.

You assume the agencies are watching all people of Middle Eastern descent...this may or may not be true but to heighten the paranoia of these people is a bit to me likened to racism.

You point to them that people are getting their heads chopped off and they were unaware, this heightens their fear again in that their father/brother or whatever could be killed for being an American at this point and viewed in a different light.

You take their comment of making bombs which was probably an off the cuff comment at that and turn it into a very serious threat to their personal security and safety.

Government sanctioned racism...this is its results

the FBI comment was kind of like a come back for their bomb comment but I must admit I did it for a chuckle and now I feel guilty of racism :awais:
