For pocket change like that, sure why not. Return it, xtra $40 or even $100 isn't gonna go too far .... Been there done that ...returned i mean.

Now if its something like $40,000 or something u got somehow and u know its without any backlash....I don't know about that one.

 

i give money back b/c the employee could get fired for that.

Anyway, I usually don't count the money people give me back until later. I guess I am too trusting, so no I don't realize that they either short me or give me more.

 

i'd give it back, otherwise it comes out of the cashiers pocket

 

or get a warning and 3 warnings=fired. (at my store at least.)
