Default SOCOM (for the PS2) is surprisingly addictive

Got it for $9, and the headset put me back another $20, but damn is it fun to play. Gonna go back to getting me some thai terrorists.

Is this part 1? And is it worth picking up? I've been wanting to buy it but didn't know if it was good or not.

Well, for $9, it's most def worth it. I'm gonna wait until SOCOM II takes a similar price stab before I get that though.

I've been addicted to SOCOM 1&2 ever since the first one came out Aug '02. My friends and I would dominate practically any room we went into. I'm surprised not many of you guys play it.

Get part 2 as soon as you can. You'll enjoy all the fixes they did to part 1 and there's alot less cheaters on there due to the upgraded patches and anti-hacking solutions.

How the hell do you hack a PS2 game?

Anyways, I noted some people had superhuman accuracy and took too many bullets without going down....

And what did they fix in SOCOM II specifically?

People usually use Codebreakers or some dumb shit cheating program. But actually this time they worked with Gameshark to fight the hacking.

They've fixed alot of shit. Most of the wall hacks you see in all the maps are gone, I've only seen one map on II that someone got into the walls. More weapons, more maps, you can blow up the Claymores this time. They revised most of the old maps including Abandoned which is now at night. There's so much other little shet that makes II 10x better than I.
