i've dealt with huge amount of e-mail at my previous job.

it gets to gigs very quickly

outlooks has issues dealing with PSTs over 2.5 gigs

"It" gets to gigs, eh?

How many people was this, and what kind of work were they doing?

As an individual, I have never had to deal w/any PST or other email storage file that big.

it being e-mail, and it does get to gigs.

Many of the emails were executive of large corporations. E-mails contained everything you could imagine, personal, spam, work, everything. Thousands upon thousands of e-mails, with their attachments.

OK, I believe you, but I edit government documents on request, even to the point of legislative and constitutional consultation, and I don't have any backup file anywhere near a gig.
