Default Good cell phone plan

I know this topic seems like an oxymoron
But seriously, I'm looking to get a new cell phone plan, one that supplies a nice phone. Does anyone recommend one they have or heard about? Thanks

You're from MA so this should apply to you.

-Cingular = crap avoid
-T-Mobile = it has super good service some places, lousy others. Its all up to luck. it uses GSM so you can use any phone really. Its the best bang for the buck as far as minutes goes, but their customer service is kinda assh*ly.
-AT&T = pretty good service. Expensive, also uses GSM
-Verizon = No first hand experience but my friend has it and its awesome, he can get calls in many places I cant. Huge downside is they dont use GSM so you gotta get a Verizon only phone
-Nextel = No clue

You end up with a net of $50 in your pocket after the rebates. You still have to spend $100 up front to get the phone, but then you are eligible for $150 worth of rebates.

the difference in quality of coverage from one network to another can vary from city to city, almost section of a city to section. i would go to the local providers and ask to borrow their phones for a minute and see what type of coverage you are getting where ever you plan on using the phone the most. even better, see if you can borrow your friends phone for a night or something.
