from what i've heard (people at my work who like the same stuff i read) they said it sucked. plus if its too like LOTR, i get pissy. i hate it when authors use the same kind of things.

sean- i have ADD. takes a few books to get into? not a good idea. if i can't get into the book in the first few chapters, i drop it.

 

i'm the same way when it comes to reading ...minus the ADD. the only resemblance i see in the books to LOTR is that they're fantasy novels and the books are written as one long epic story and not really individual books. the who's and what's and where's and how's are all totally different. i haven't ran across a hobbit yet and i doubt i will. i'm reading book 5 right now and the pace of the read has been nonstop fast since the second chapter of the first book. a highly reccommended read IMO

 

my first favorite fantasy writer was david eddings
his first series spans 13 books
his second series spanned 6 books but was not as good as the first, but i still found it a good read

my current favorite is raymond feist and his series span 14 books with 6 titles planned

ive also read peirs anthony's xanth series
it starts off really good and then about the 14th book or somehting i lost interest
i still plan to reread teh entire series :happysad:
