I've always heard that people who quit smoking usually gain weight, as they look to food instead of cigarettes.

I'm quitting now and so far no weight loss or gain.

Moment I realized I should quit was when I played a game of ice hockey and nearly fainted due to lack of stamina. I want to be a good player playing division one varsity next year so I can go ncaa.

Weight gain is usually due to food being a replacement for cigarettes, oral fixation, and the simple fact that it tastes so much better when you don't have hot smoke killing your tastebuds. At least that's what I experienced.

I quit for 6 months and aside from added energy from more oxygen getting to me I didn't gain or lose any weight. One thing I didn't do though was substitute food for cigs or candy or one habit for the one I was quitting.

I went cold turkey and did fine until stress kicked my ass and I picked a pack up h: Gonna quit again starting the end of this month though.
