Default Army Recalling..

Well my boyfriend and i were at his mom's house yesterday when I man in uniform dropped off a letter for him. He is being recalled. He's been out of the Army for almost 2 yrs and now they're recalling him..he has 30 days :happysad: This highly upsets me..i never dated military men because I didn't want to have to deal with this...and now I'll get to He will be going to Iraq... You know stuff in Iraq must be getting really bad when they start recalling people. Really sucks...cuz the army just combined some units and my brothers unit out of Ft. Bragg got joined in with my cousins Unit out of Georgia. They have been told they're going to Iraq in August...which isn't good that they are BOTH in the same unit going together to Iraq...I will now have them to stress about as well as my boyfriend. :happysad: Grrrrrrrrr

LOL that's tru and the sex...:naughty: but it's easier to say you shouldn't be sad then actually do it. Lots of men & women are dying in Iraq..that's why I'm sad..and they predict things in Iraq to get even worse. I've got some personal stuff going on right now..so this is really crappy timing for this to come about.

how does recalling work? do you still have to be enlisted on some army job at home or was he done with his 4 years and had a civilian job?

the enlisted commitment to the military is 8 years regardless.. what you don't do active(usually 4 years) you have to do as inactive reserve or reserve. i still have like a year and 6 months of inactive time left. i doubt i'll get called though.

Yea, my coworker just got called to Ft. McCoy. He's a great guy, old, but not grouchy like most old people are. For an old military guy, you'd think he'd be all gung-ho and crap, but he's really sociable. We'll all miss him.
